Some of our longer-term readers may remember back as far just over a decade ago – a now halcyon-looking time when we just had the credit crunch and the resulting recession to deal with – when, before B&I, we launched as FSM Magazine, covering the whole of contract catering.

Well, we now return to our roots as we merge with fellow H2O titles EDUcatering and Sports & Leisure Catering to cover those bases, along with the likes of healthcare and defence and government.

It is appropriate then that we launch Contract Catering Magazine with a Big interview (on page 10) that celebrates the strength of unity. With so many in the sector struggling, the biggest names in the industry have come together to provide support – emphasised by the fact that we speak to both Wendy Bartlett and Allister Richards about the new Food Service Circle support vehicle.I, and Jane Renton, who wrote the above feature, are delighted to be covering the whole of this inclusive and innovative industry once again, and we are looking forward to doing whatever we can to support it in future.
