Pupils from Onthank and Galston Primary Schools launch Scottish Baker of the Year Competition

Pupils from Onthank and Galston Primary Schools have helped to launch the 2019 Scottish Baker of the Year Competition by taking part in a sticky challenge to create jam and ice empire biscuits, pineapple cups and yum yums.

“Our bakery has never seen the like,” said Scottish Baker of the Year 2018 John Gall of Brownings the Bakers, as his bakery played host to competition ambassador Mich Turner MBE and head judge Robert Ross for the launch.

The Scottish Baker of the Year Awards is the brainchild of Scottish Bakers, the Trade Association for bakers in Scotland who decided to search for the best baker in the land in 2012.
